It started with Olivier representing retailers and owners, as a lawyer, for commercial lease legal issues. He noticed that parties had a hard time keeping track of legal deadlines and contracts, whereas failure to do so could have painful consequences (such as the loss of a point of sale). And this was also happening to sophisticated players! There was something wrong with the way it was all managed. Tools used by many players (excel sheets, ERP’s, basic contract management solutions, etc.) were inappropriate for the needs of retailers and generally too complicated to offer the expected benefits . Olivier saw the opportunity, but how to resolve it was not yet clear. The answer came when he met Daniel at a wedding cocktail. Both friends have complementary skills, a âssion for their work and a strong taste for entrepreneurship. They started drawing mock-ups of their solution, and tested it with potential clients. The feedback was unanimously enthusiastic. Those discussions allowed the two founders to rapidly enrich the solution with new functionalities. The machine was launched! In January 2012, a beta version of RetailDrive was released, and in May, a first version went live. Since then, the RetailDrive team has continued to grow, with added expertise and new and innovative ideas. Challenge us. Daniel is a serial entrepreneur with a solid technical background. He was the driving force behind the success of start-up companies such as Routing International and OpenHR. He has an engineering diploma and an INSEAD MBA.
After a career as a lawyer specialized in commercial and tax law, Olivier launched Leyton Belgium and managed it as Managing Director for more than 5 years to see it grow to 50 people. On top of his legal and operational expertise, he brings his drive and continuous flow of ideas.
Léon has more than 30 years of experience in the retail industry. He co-founded Carpetland and Mitiska, a fund listed on Brussels stock exchange with participation in companies such as Brantano, AS Adventure and Fun.
Jos created Arinso, which he grew to a group active in 27 countries with net sales of 220 m€. In 2007, Jos founded Saffelberg Investments, a leading investment fund and is recognized as an IT and Business Transformation expert.
With the marketing background she developed at L’Oréal and her involvement in a previous start-up, Charlotte has the hands-on experience and critical view on design that are two values at the core of RetailDrive.
Frédéric has a broad IT experience and network both in the private and public sectors. He is the Infopole cluster IT director and an active member of the Internet Attitude expert committee selecting investments in Internet companies.
